We offer a lifeline of friendship to elderly who live alone, seldom see friends and family and have difficulties getting out and about without help. We put lonely elderly in the same neighbourhood in contact with each other by organising regular Sunday afternoon tea parties in local volunteers homes. Other volunteers act as drivers and collect the elderly and take them by car to and from the tea party and give a steady hand. The organisation was founded 2008 by the Gyll family in Sweden. The inspiration comes from the national charity Contact the Elderly in England. Today we are present in 17 locations in Sweden - including Sweden’s 5 largest cities- and have 55 local volunteer groups and engage over 1000 older guests and volunteers.
