Rotterdam Business School sends Master Sustainability Transitions students into live research across the wider university

Rotterdam Business School (RBS), part of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, has gone live with its new Master Sustainability Transitions (STR) programme, launching with the Challenges Catalogue for 2026-2027: thirteen confirmed research challenges commissioned by professors from Centre of Expertise HRTech, Knowledge Centre Business Innovation, the Climate & Water lectoraat, and RUAS’s Cybersocial Design Research Group, alongside external co-commissioners including the Port of Rotterdam Authority

Future Makers Award for students working towards a climate-resilient future

How can we prepare cities and regions for drought, salinisation and increasingly extreme weather conditions? Water Management students Niels Baars, Remco Peters and Soufiane El-Irhani made a significant contribution to two major climate adaptation research projects through their final-year studies. Their work earned them the Future Makers Award in the Sustainable Delta category.

Innovations in elderly care earn students a Future Makers Award

How can we ensure that elderly care remains humane, affordable, and appealing to care professionals? Four students from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences joined forces with care organisations, researchers, care providers, and care home residents to find the answer. Their contribution to the 'Innovate at Home' project earned them the Future Makers Award in the Vibrant Community category.
