Dr. Hang Le studied Biomedical Sciences at Leiden University. She obtained her PhD at the Department of Human and Clinical Genetics of the Leiden University Medical Centre, where she did research into hereditary cyst nematodes. At the Josephine Nefkens Institute, Department of Pathology, of the Erasmus Medical Centre, she worked as a postdoc on cancer stem cells and the tumour micro-environment.
Hang Le combines her research group with her position as laboratory specialist in clinical chemistry at Star-SHL, one of the largest independent medical diagnostic centres in the Netherlands. She is also a board member of the Stichting LeveDNA! LeveDNA! is the result of a collaboration between the Leiden University Medical Center, Leiden Genome Technology Center, Leiden University, and Naturalis. The foundation focuses on information and (re)education about genetics to a wide audience, from young to old, from layman to professional.
