Admission requirements

To enter the bachelor programme International Business of Rotterdam Business School you must meet the following requirements and supply us with these application documents: 

To study International Business, you need:

• A secondary school diploma equivalent to a Dutch HAVO, VWO or MBO Level 4 diploma
• Depending on your diploma, proof of English proficiency
• If you require a study visa, you need to participate in an online Study Programme Check interview

4-year programme

EU and non-EU nationality applicants without a Dutch diploma

Step 1. Check your diploma level

If you completed secondary school outside the Netherlands, click here to check at the Nuffic website whether your diploma meets the minimum Dutch level requirement: MBO 4, HAVO or VWO

• Translation is not required if your diploma and grade list are issued in English, Dutch, German, French, or Spanish.  If your documents are in any other language, upload both the original and a certified translation by a sworn translator into English or Dutch. 
• For your final registration we need to either receive an original certified photocopy* of your diploma and a final transcript by post. Or you can show your original diploma and transcript in person before the deadline of 31st of August**. Or ask your school to send it to us by e-mail
  • *An original certified photocopy is a photocopy of your original diploma. This copy is stamped and signed by the school or the institute which awarded your diploma. 

Step 2. Meet the English requirement 

You may be exempt if:

• your previous education was taught entirely in English
• your diploma is on this EU secondary education diploma list.
• Test results cannot be older than 2 years
• Online or home editions are not accepted. We only accept tests that are taken at the test centre of the English language test provider

Step 3. Complete the Study Programme Check (only for students who require a study visa)

All non-EU applicants will be invited for an online Sudy Programme Check interview. Prior to the interview, you will receive a questionnaire to help you prepare. You can use it as a guide for the types of questions that may be asked.

Step 4. Gather your application documents

You need to upload to our application portal:

• A copy of ID (only EU applicants) or Passport
• Already graduated? Copy of your diploma & grade list
• Still graduating? If you are in your final year, we can also determine if you are eligible to apply based on your current grade list & a statement from your school indicating when and for which diploma you are expected to graduate. 
• Certified translation if applicable (see above)
• English certificate if applicable (see above)
• *if you will graduate before 1st of September (Fall season) but obtain the physical copy later than the start date fill in statement of expected graduation date  signed by your school
