Whether you are a student, a company, or a partner within our network, at Rotterdam Business School we strive to make an impact together. In our diverse and open community, students, researchers, and companies work on challenges that move society forward. Sometimes this happens on a large scale, and other times in small, tangible steps that have an immediate effect.

Societal challenges cannot be solved within a single field. For this reason we give you the opportunity to collaborate with students from various programmes and look beyond your own expertise. This collaboration brings unique talents and strengths to the surface. With the resources and opportunities we provide, everyone can grow – both in knowledge, skill and on a personal level.

Education and research strengthen each other at Rotterdam Business School. Practical experience from the field is used to enrich our research, and new research insights flow back into practice. Together with the Research Centre Business Innovation, our centre of expertise for practice-based research, focused on change, we bring renewal to companies ready to embrace the future.

Rotterdam Business School is deeply embedded in the Rotterdam community. Rooted in the city with its hands-on and innovative mentality, we work closely with companies and organisations in Rotterdam and beyond.  Making an impact at Rotterdam Business School has no limits; our network reaches across the globe, providing everyone with the opportunity to make an impact on an international scale.

    • Purpose Economy
We will show you how thinking differently about the economy can contribute to a better future for everyone.
    • Circular Economy
We work on new ways to reuse materials and products, creating value for businesses and society.
    • Digital Economy

The atmosphere at Rotterdam Business School

Rotterdam Business School is located in a new and sustainable building on the Kralingse Zoom campus. The building offers all the facilities you need, from a restaurant and café to study areas and a library. Although the building is large, each programme has its own student lounge where students come together. This way, you will experience the small-scale community of your programme within the dynamic setting of a large business school.

Why students choose Rotterdam Business School

    Rotterdam

Rotterdam is truly a world city. Home to the largest port in Europe, Rotterdam has global trade and transport links. The city's history of international trade has helped to shape what is now seen as the typical 'roll up your sleeves and get cracking' Rotterdam mentality. Known as the Netherlands' ultimate festival city, Rotterdam buzzes with activity all year round. Cultural, sporting, and music events are plentiful.

Rotterdam is home to 180 nationalities. The city's cultural diversity is reflected in its wide-ranging, international cuisine. With a rich blend of cultures, subcultures, and communities, the city fosters a diverse, inclusive, and open urban atmosphere. It’s no wonder that more and more international companies and expats settle and build their future in Rotterdam

    International environment

With students from all over the world, our focus is fully international.  Besides being part of an international classroom, you will have the opportunity to get international experience through projects for international companies and placements or study abroad.

    Practice makes perfect

All bachelor's programmes include periods of practical work experience. Students can gain international experience by completing their placement abroad. Master's programmes incorporate practical training as well, allowing students to develop hands-on skills in their field and a taste of the business world even before they graduate.

    Learn from professionals

At Rotterdam Business School, many lecturers bring years of experience from the business world. Many have held positions in international or Dutch companies, while others continue to work as industry professionals or consultants alongside their teaching roles. Their expertise ensures that students benefit from relevant professional insights and real-life case studies, bridging the gap between theory and practice.

    Student support

For students who need a bit of extra support during their studies, we offer various facilities, from student coaches to academic advisors – all ready to help.

For international students, it's good to know that all staff at Rotterdam Business school speak English. The Centre of International Affairs has extensive experience in guiding international students and can provide information on living in the Netherlands, residence permits, housing, insurance, and banking matters.

    Study success

Each student at Rotterdam Business School is assigned a Study Career Coach at the start of their studies. Your coach provides personal guidance throughout your programme, helping you identify strengths and areas for improvement that may affect your progress. They will also advise you on the best options to support your successful completion of the programme.
