    Tuition fee, costs of living and other study costs

    What are the costs for studying at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences? You can find more information below for an overview of the financial aspect of studying at our institution.

    Tuition fees

    Being a student of higher education means paying a study fee per academic year. A distinction is made between the statutory tuition fee and the institutional tuition fee.

    *Under certain conditions you are eligible for the statutory tuition fee. Please check the rules and rates (information in English available at the end of the page). Some students need to pay the institutional tuition fee. This includes students who already have a degree of higher education or academic study and students from non-EEA countries. Please check the rules and rates (information in English available at the end of the page).

     

    EEA (European Economic Area) students

    The following countries belong to this category: 

    Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, the Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

    Students from Surinam will be charged the same fees as students from EEA countries.

    Tuition fee for Refugees

    Students who have been officially recognised by the UAF (the Foundation for Refugee Students) are required to pay the same tuition fees as EU/EEA students. Please contact CoIA.

    Costs of living

    What does it cost to study in Rotterdam?

    To cover your living expenses, such as housing, food, insurance and transportation you should expect to spend approximately € 1000 - € 1,400 a month, excluding your tuition fee.

    The costs are roughly as follows:

    Other study costs

    For the purchase of books, readers and other materials you can expect to pay between € 300 and € 750 per year.

    As you are enrolled in an International programme you may expect to travel abroad during your studies for your placement or exchange. The costs for these trips depend on your destination, duration of your stay, price of accommodation and means of transport. Please note that you have to pay for these costs yourself in addition to your tuition fee.
